Listen to yourself more
Private Chef and entrepreneur, Dumebi Agbakoba shares the greatest lesson life has taught her on this conversation #WithChude.
She says:
The greatest lesson life has taught me is that I should have listened to myself more.
I should have embraced my strength and not pushed it aside. If you remember, this goes back to when we first met, and you told me that I seemed emotionally unattached. And I feel I was emotionally attached, to some extent, I am. I’m more emotionally unattached to people and to things I feel I was emotionally unattached then because I didn’t understand myself.
I didn’t understand my thing.
I didn’t understand that you could be emotionally unattached and also unemotional. You could be really strong and also weak. You could be singing for joy and also sobbing like a baby.
I didn’t understand you could be all those things at the same time.
Quote for the day
“Being your very best self. Holding yourself to the highest standards. Acting always on those standards. Forgiving yourself when you slip. Using the slip to improve on being your very best self. That’s the only cycle that matters.”
