Make your pain profit you
Mfon Ekpo, in her conversation #WithChude shared about pain, and how to translate pain into beauty.
She said:
You are resourced for your assignment, and pain is part of the resource. Pain has the capacity to help us to produce more than anything.
There's a pressure that comes with success but it's not like the pressure that comes with pain. Pain pushes you to produce; some of our best movies and best songs came from pain.
Pain gets you in touch with the emotion of being human to the point that you know how to translate it. There's also negative translation into depression; but if you know how to translate it, pain is beautiful. The lesson is to make your pain profit you and those around you.
Quote for the day
“Feedback from others is your check and balance against your own actions (and the judgements that inspired them). But never forget you’re still the final judge. No matter what others say, after you have taken that into consideration and tested it, in fact even when you’ve tested the feedback against the outcome of your own actions, you still get to decide if you did right or wrong, and what to do next time. (Even if you’re conclusion is wrong, only you really can conclude for yourself. It can’t be outsourced. That’s what it means to have your own mind.)” - Chude
One more for the road
“The ego doesn’t actually exist.. it’s merely a ball of tightly knotted beliefs that can potentially be undone.”
