The other day someone did something that hurt me so deeply it almost brought me to tears.
It ‘broke my heart’.
But, as I do these days, in the midst of the sadness, I looked deeply into what was making me sad, and I realized the moment was actually a gift. I acknowledged what I was doing wrong that brought me here, and what I needed to do better.
Because, sometimes, we need to have our hearts broken so we can see clearly.
(In any case, hearts don’t really break. They bend, they stretch, they are strained, but they can always come whole again.)
Disillusionment is a good thing, the Indian mystic Sadhguru has said.
It means your illusions are being destroyed.
